There’s something special about Mexican cuisine and it’s one that the European culture has absorbed with open arms, becoming one of the most popular cuisines in many parts of the Western world. However, not everyone can do it like the Mexican’s can.
Walking in to Hecho En Mexico in Yarraville, you are instantly transported to North America. The first thing to hit you is the retro decor and groovy atmosphere. Bright, colourful lights lace the bar displaying the tequila on offer, and a decorative skull illuminates at the back of the restaurant. At the front of the restaurant are two gorgeous swings that add a really unique touch to your dining experience.
Service is attentive and menu options are enticing. We opted for a vegetarian burrito, fish tacos, children’s nachos and fish n chips. The burrito was jam packed full of delicious ingredients and a very generous portion size with notable Mexican flavours. The fish tacos were a highlight and cooked perfectly and the kids meals were a hit.
This is a beautiful little Mexican restaurant in the heart of the gorgeous Yarraville. It is the perfect spot for after work margaritas and a delicious feed. We can’t wait to return, throw on our sombrero’s and dance the night away to the sweet tunes of Ranchera.
